Eli Thomas

Mr. Eli Thomas was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He entered the U.S. Army and completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY. During his military career he was stationed at numerous stateside and overseas locations to include Fort Carson, CO., Mainz Germany, Fort Ord, CA., Fort Benning, GA, Camp Zama, Japan, and Schofield Barracks, HI. Mr. Thomas served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Division at Fort Carson CO. 2001-2004 and he was also a U.S. Ranger Instructor at Ft. Benning. In 2001, Mr. Thomas deployed to Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I. He also served a six month tour as a part of the Multi Forces Observer rotation in Egypt. During his military career, Mr. Thomas completed the following schools: Air Borne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, Jump Master, Ranger School and the Battle Staff Course and all Non-Commissioned Officer Development courses through the Sergeant Major Academy at Fort Bliss, TX. He was also inducted in the Prestigious Sergeant Morales Club in Germany. He retired from active duty after 24 years of service.

Since retiring from the military, Mr. Thomas was employed by Chugach Industries as the Project Manager for their Base Support Operations Contract at Fort Carson, CO. and as the Deputy Project Manager for the Base Support Operations Contract here at Picatinny Arsenal until April of 2009. In April of 2009, he became the Chief of Military Housing at Picatinny Arsenal, a position he held until Aug 10, 2014 when he was assigned as the new Director of Emergency Services at Picatinny Arsenal. He also earned his BA in Human Resources Development from Hawaii Pacific University in 2001 and went on to earn his Masters in Business Management from Webster’s University in 2003, graduating with honor in both programs. In additional, he earned his Master Certificate in Government Contract from The George Washington University.
