Australian liaison officer arrives at Picatinny Arsenal
Lt. Col. Christopher Gates is the newest foreign liaison officer assigned to the Program Executive Office for Ammunition, where Gates will primarily support the process of foreign military sales to the Australian Army. The Australian government is one of the largest customers for ammunition. Purchases also include pyrotechnics and Lightweight 155 Howitzers. The Australian military purchases these items from the U.S. because they are deemed more affordable than manufacturing them in Australia.
