PEO Ammunition visits McAlester Ammo Plant
Chris Crouch, general manager at MCAAP for Raytheon Company, talks to Brig. Gen. Patrick Burden, Deputy Program Executive Officer Ammunition, and Col. Willie Coleman (far left), Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems, about the Excalibur precision-guided extended range artillery round that is integrated at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Oklahoma, as part of a public-private partnership between the defense contractor and the ammunition plant. Col. Joseph G. Dalessio, MCAAP commander, and Lt. Col. Joshua Walsh, Project Manager Excalibur, observe and listen to the discussion.
The March 11 visit was Burden's first to McAlester. During the visit, he received an overview of MCAAP's capabilities and visited the recently modernized bomb line, 155mm demilitarization facility, M1122 load/assemble/pack facility, Excalibur integration facility, and the large scale ammunition outload pad.
