Career Development and Training
Picatinny supports scientific and engineering creativity through a career program that rewards individual
excellence with increased responsibility and rapid advancement.
A key element of this program is the Individual Career Development Plan. As a new employee, you are assigned a
career counselor who will work with you and your supervisor on your Plan. On the basis of your educational
background, capabilities, and interests, work assignments are planned and an academic program is designed to
broaden your experience and further your career objectives.
We offer you abundant opportunities to increase your skills and knowledge through various training programs.
You will be assisted and encouraged in your professional development to advance your education through
scientific and engineering courses, in-house technical training, and special on-the-job training.
Picatinny pays tuition, registration fees and other costs for job related graduate and undergraduate courses.
Also located on the post is the Picatinny Center for Defense Science Studies which offers many baccalaureate
and graduate level courses in engineering and science.
