In November 2007, The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center became the first
Department of Defense organization in history selected to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's highest
Presidential honor for quality and organizational performance excellence.
This year's ceremony marked the 20th anniversary for the Award. Secretary of Commerce, Carlos M. Gutierrez, presented the award to five organizations.
The Baldrige recipients were greeted by President George W. Bush, in the Oval Office at the White House just prior to the awards ceremony.
