American Red Cross An American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard is employable at lakes, pools and beaches all around the world. This extensive course teaches water rescue skills, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and Oxygen Administration. REGISTRATION: Sign-up begins April 1st by calling 973-724-7275 (PARK) or email Maureen.Tsadilas@us.army.mil The fee is $350.00 for the course. There will be a total of three training sessions offered for this course. Participants MUST attend all dates included in their training session. Training includes a
total of 32 hours of instruction, a training manual, CPR mask and
certification cards Training Session 1: April 28th (8:30pm-3:30pm), April 29th (8:30pm-3:30pm) & May 6th (8:30pm-3:30pm) Training Session 2:
May 11th (3:30pm-7:30pm), May 12th (8:30am-3:30pm), May 13th
(8:30am-3:30pm), May 14th (3:30pm-7:30pm)
Course Prerequisites To be eligible for the lifeguarding course, the
participant must be 15 years of age prior to the last day of the class
registered for. 1.500 meter swim using a combination of crawl (freestyle) and breast stroke 2.Ability to retrieve a 10lb weight from the bottom of the pool and swim 25 yards supporting the weight
Certification Requirements Upon successful completion of the lifeguarding course, each participant will receive two American Red Cross Universal Certificates- one indicating Lifeguarding/First Aid, which is valid for 3 years, and another indicating CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, which is valid for 2 years. To receive the two courses completion certificates for the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course, the participant must:
