U.S. Army Faces of the Force at Work: Bonnie Lou Carr Supports PM TAS Fielding Effort
PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. -- Quality Assurance Specialist Bonnie Lou Carr, assigned to the Project Manager for Towed Artillery Systems (PM TAS) within PEO Ammunition, has been heading up the on-ground efforts in support of composite fielding of the M777A2 and M119A3 howitzers to Army infantry brigade combat teams (IBCTs). Her military experience and quality assurance expertise has made her the perfect fit in the role of PM TAS composite fielding site lead.
Carr supported a very aggressive schedule, completing fielding for six IBCTs, both National Guard and active Army units, over a six-month time frame. A number of factors complicated fielding for the Texas National Guard, including multiple units being trained, transfer of weapons from outside of PM TAS and weapon conditions that were not to trainable standards. However, Carr’s diligence and dedication laid the groundwork for mission success. Her leadership enabled her to successfully schedule, organize and execute the full scope of required fielding activities and provide quality oversight during new equipment training.
