| M1029 40mm Non-Lethal Crowd Dispersal Cartridge |
The U.S. Army currently fields the M1006 Point Target Round, better
known as the “Sponge Grenade” and the M1029 Crowd Dispersal
Cartridge. Each is intended for close quarter engagement, can engage
three or more targets at once and is fired from a standard M203 Grenade
Launcher. XM1044 gives the warfighter a long range, rapid fire, non-lethal
capability using the standard MK19 machine gun.
