Picatinny Arsenal is situated on a 6,500-acre military installation located in the northwest corner of New Jersey. Picatinny plays a unique role in the United States' ability to wage war. There is no other comprehensive armaments facility like it in the country; it is a one-of-a-kind facility that provides virtually all of the lethal mechanisms used in Army weapon systems and those of the other military services.

Geographically, our location is between the Pocono Mountains, 40 minutes to the west, and the Jersey Shore, an hour to the east, and is ideal for a variety of leisure activities, including summer and winter sports. Nearby New York City offers famous museums, the Broadway theater district, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and home of the Metropolitan and New York City Operas and the New York City Ballet. Atlantic City, within driving distance from Picatinny, provides a wide spectrum of entertainment activities. For professional sports fans, the area has football’s Giants and Jets, baseball’s Mets and Yankees, basketball’s Knicks and Nets, and hockey’s Devils, Islanders and Rangers. For indoor sports, within an hour in any direction is the greatest shopping in the World.

The site itself offers excellent recreational facilities, including an employee’s club, tennis courts, softball diamonds, soccer fields, an 18 hole golf course, fishing, a swimming pool, a water park, and fitness center. Leagues for basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, bowling, golf and flag football draw many employees into exciting off-duty competition. Employee/Family friendly programs are also in place that allows flexi-time and flexi-place, and a childcare facility is located on premises.
