Learn about food safety
September is Food
Safety Month. The goals for the month are to reinforce food safety education
and training among restaurant and food service workers and to educate the public
about food safety.
The theme this year is “Four Steps to Food Safety (Consumer) and ‘CHECK IT OUT before you check it in (Retail).
As an expression of Picatinny’s commitment to food safety, a Food Safety Month Information Booth will be set up at the Commissary Sept. 25 from 10 am. – 3 p.m. Sgt. Eric Daniels from the Northeast District Veterinary Command, Fort Monmouth Branch, Picatinny Food Inspection Section, will be handing out educational materials and stickers for the kids.
Daniels is the local food inspector here who keeps watch over every food establishment on post. He inspects the food that comes to Mulligans, Halfway House, Choices and the Commissary.
